As every shopper knows, some of the best little treasures are stumbled upon while aimlessly browsing the aisles. We may not have necessarily been looking for that adorable pair of earrings, but we found it because we placed ourselves in an environment where it would be difficult NOT to run into something beautiful-the mall.

Likewise, if we are constantly exposing ourselves to the Presence of the Lord (via meditating on the Word, worshiping in song, adoring Him, fellowship-ing with the Holy Spirit, etc), we’ll find little nuggets of Truth and Beauty and Liberty and Love (all a part of the nature of the Man Christ Jesus) that will, upon contact with our little brains and hearts, explode into thousands of little shards of brilliant light, which will then proceed to pierce through our Old Man, both making way for and producing the New Man.

(I hope the spirit of what I’m saying is theologically accurate. I know when I get excited, my analogies can get a little out-there.)

Where we choose to place ourselves, what we choose to expose ourselves to, whom we choose to expose ourselves to, and how we choose to spend our time are some of the most important decisions we’ll ever make. It’s our way of choosing who we become.

Our lives are the fruit of what we commune with!
